Description

Thuja occidentalis L., or western red cedar, is a coniferous tree of the Cupressaceae family, native to North America. It can grow to a height of 10 to 20 metres, with a straight trunk and reddish-brown, fibrous bark. Its scaly, dark green, evergreen leaves are arranged in opposite pairs. This tree, often pyramidal when young, becomes cylindrical with age.
