Description

Verbena officinalis is an herbaceous flowering plant of the Verbenaceae family. It grows in all temperate regions of the world and can reach a height of 70 cm. It is widely used in herbal teas for its diuretic and anti-rheumatic properties.

Origin

Verbena is grown in the Beni Mellal region in central Morocco. It is mainly grown for phytotherapy. Certain quantities are steam-distilled to produce essential oil. Harvesting takes place from June to October when the herb is fully developed.
