Pistacia lentiscus is an evergreen shrub related to the pistachio tree. It is also called mastic (“lentisque” in French) because of its resin. Traditionally harvested in Greece, it has been used in medicine and as a flavoring agent.
The lentisque (mastic) used by Biolandes is harvested in the forests of the Rif region of northern Morocco. Biolandes practices sustainable harvesting in order to preserve the resource: only a few branches are taken from each plant to produce this oil.

This essential oil offers very fresh notes, terpenic slightly woody resinous. It allows to bring cypress notes in the background, rather adapted to the male perfumery type fougère but also in the eaux de cologne.
