Description
Olibanum is a natural gum resin that forms on the trunk of several species of Boswellia, a small tree native to southern Arabia and North Africa, once it has been cut. The trees grow in the wild and are regularly incised by the local populations. The gum is harvested several weeks later. A cleaning and grading process is then organised so that the different grades are ready for export.

Origin

Biolandes works with Boswellia carterii exudate collected in northern Somalia, in dedicated areas to ensure consistent analytical quality of the extracts; and also with wild Boswellia sacra exudate collected in Oman, in Salalah, the Arabian capital of perfumes in the south of the country.
In recent years, Biolandes has organised a dedicated supply of organic Olibanum gum in order to offer organic essential oils.
