Biolandes E Newsletter No. 116 Ylang-Ylang

Biolandes' ylang-ylang supply chains in Madagascar and the Comoros

Biolandes has been cultivating ylang-ylang in north-western Madagascar since 1997, in the heart of the fertile plains of the Sambirano River in Ambanja. The flowers are harvested daily and distilled immediately to preserve the aromatic richness of this fragile raw material. Biolandes' production in Madagascar is certified organic and fair trade.

In the Comoros, Biolandes operates the largest distillery in operation on the island of Anjouan. The factory purchases and processes ylang-ylang flowers picked by nearly 250 producers. It also works with a network of essential oil producer partners.
