Rosemary from Morocco
The three biggest producing countries of essential oil of Rosemary are Tunisia, Morocco and Spain.
Especially in North Africa, Rosemary grows wild over vast areas that are allotted as concessions for distillation operations.
In the spring, before the excessively high temperatures of summer, mobile distillation stills are installed in the midst of the Rosemary growths, near sources of water. The year's newly-grown twigs are distilled over open fires, and the distillation residues are used as fuel.
Biolandes works with a Rosemary production operation in Morocco, in concessions north of Meknes, and offers a Moroccan type essential oil rich in cineol.
Another partnership in Tunisia allows us to offer a certified organic (Ecocert EC / NOP) Tunisian essential oil with a somewhat different profile.
