Um mundo de matérias-primas
- Nome botânico:
- Tagetes minuta
- Parte utilizada:
- stem & flower
Originally from South America, Tagetes minuta is now extensively developed all over Eastern Africa, from South Africa to Rwanda, including Madagascar.
In springtime the plant spontaneously grows to heights of 1 to 1.5 meters, topped by a bouquet of small yellow flowers.
In Madagascar Tagete grows abundantly on the highlands south of Antananarivo, where it is harvested in May and June.
Biolandes organizes the gathering and distillation of Tagete in cooperation with several partners in different regions. The distillation stills are installed near the harvesting areas and a source of water, and are heated over open wood fires.
The resulting essential oil of Tagete is filtered, blended and aerated in France.
