There are more than 500 species of eucalyptus, a tree native to Australia. One in particular, Eucalyptus globulus, also called the "blue gum tree," grows rapidly and adapts easily. It has been acclimatized to the Mediterranean basin, especially in southern Spain and Portugal, where it is grown as a source of paper pulp.
The leafy branches, which are a byproduct of paper production, are distilled in our factory in Spain to produce the essential oil. Our oil contains less cineole than traditional grades, and thus renders the lovely aromatic character of eucalyptus.
