Jasmine sambac is the second most common variety of jasmine grown in India. It is also found in China (Guangxi province), where its flowers are used to make scented teas.
The Jasmine sambac blossom, which is fleshier than the grandiflorum variety, is widely used in daily life in India, especially to make floral garlands and necklaces.
The flowers are grown in Tamil Nadu, where the fields are in bloom from April to October.
The extraction of Jasmine sambac blossoms is rather recent, dating only from the nineteen-nineties, but the resulting products achieved rapid success and their development continues today.
The current production amounts to about 1 to 1.5 tons of concrete per year.
