Ambrette is a tropical perennial plant whose name is derived from anbar, the Arabic word for ambergris. Its small seeds emanate a characteristic musky odor. We source dried ambrette seed from Ecuador and distill it in France to produce a precious essential oil called "ambrette butter" that is rich in fatty acids.
