Endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, Thymus mastichina, or Spanish marjoram, is an aromatic plant of the Lamiaceae family. It grows mainly in Spain and Portugal. Its essential oil has a characteristic odor that distinguishes it from the other oils of the thyme family due to its high concentration of 1.8-cineole.
