For over 40 years, Biolandes has been committed to responsible and sustainable sourcing by upcycling the by-products from other industries or of its own distillations. By giving these materials a second life, they become new natural ingredients to enrich the perfumer’s palette around the world.
This extract, which we call a “By-Absolute,” is obtained from the solvent extraction of the spent twigs and branches after the distillation of the essential oil of cypress. The concrete thus obtained is then treated and processed as an absolute. The extraction is carried out at our production unit in Valréas in southern France and the absolute is processed at our main factory, also in France.
