Originaire du Liban comme son nom l’indique, le cèdre du Liban est un arbre appartenant à la famille des Pinaceae. Mesurant jusqu’à 40 mètres de hauteur à maturité et dotée d’une longévité exceptionnelle pouvant aller jusqu’à 1000 ans, il est un emblème du Liban et est notamment présent sur le drapeau du pays. Il fut introduit en Europe en 1650.
