- Biolandes has been active in Provence since 2004 following its acquisition of the Agnel company and its distillery in Valréas, located in the heart of the main lavender and lavandin growing region.
- The Valréas plant is equipped with conventional stills and distillation units with 30 cu.m. mobile hoppers, as well as an extraction unit.
- The distillery operates mostly in the summer, when the hoppers of freshly gathered lavandin are distilled at the rate of one per hour to produce 120 kg of oil.
In the winter, the plant distills cypress branches pruned from the hedges that protect the crops against the wind.
- Biolandes' products made in Provence include oils of lavender, lavandin, salvia, cypress, tarragon and hyssop, plus sage and lavender concretes.
In Provence, Biolandes also produces traditional Provençal products like carrot, parsley and lovage oil.
