Biolandes in Morocco

Biolandes Maroc has two locations

Biolandes Maroc plant

- In the north in Khemisset (between Rabat and Fès) Biolandes operates a farm and a distillation / extraction unit.

- In the south in El Kelaa M’Gouna, east of Ouarzazate, Biolandes has taken over a Rose extraction plant built in the desert in 1940.

In Khemisset,

On our 450 acres plantation all crops have been converted to organic farming since 2003. The main plantations are: 110 acres of Bitter Orange trees (for the flowers), Mimosa, Geranium, Jasmine, Laurel, and Carob. Several distillation and extraction workshops process our farm's crops as well as a variety of collected raw materials (Oak moss, Chamomile Wild, Beeswax, Cedar sawdust,...).

In El Kelaa M’Gouna,

This area keeps an ancient tradition of growing hedges of Damask roses around its river irrigated gardens. In addition to Rose concrete production, the factory distillates large quantities of Armoise (Artemisia herba alba).

Active in local development

Since 2007 the company has also started a series of actions backing up and encouraging local villages and communities to start their own plantations and distillation.

Biolandes Morocco operates with a team of 40 people and employs hundreds of local villagers during flower picking seasons and for the Armoise harvest in the south.
