On a woody stem, it develops an annual shoot whose growth depends on the winter and spring rainfalls. Armoise grows over wide expanses of the High Atlas region of southeastern Morocco, where the government allots concessions for its harvesting. It is gathered by villagers, who set up camps in the desert during the harvest season in June. Our Armoise is then sent to our Biolandes Maroc factory in El Kelaa, where it is distilled.
Morocco produces an average of 35 tons of Armoise per year.
