The Osmanthus is a tree native to southern China that is cultivated for its flowers, whose apricot-like fragrance is traditionally used to scent tea.
In several provinces, in particular Guangxi, local farmers beat the trees in September and October to gather the innumerable small flowers, whose color ranges from pale yellow to bright orange.
The Chinese have been developing the extraction of Osmanthus blossoms since the nineteen-sixties. The flowers are preserved in brine and extracted in autumn and winter.
Biolandes selects concretes from several factories in Guangxi, striking a balance between products with a highly animalic odor and others with much fruitier notes. Our absolutes are produced in France.
The annual production of Osmanthus concrete in China totals about 1 ton.
