Opoponax is a gum-resin that is closely related to Myrrh, since it is also produced by a tree of the Commiphora genus: Commiphora erythraea.
It is produced in the same part of the world as Myrrh, and total Opoponax production ranges from about 300 to 400 tons per year.
The gum distilled by Biolandes comes from Somaliland.
